Following exports, explained
What's the difference between followers and following?+
Followers are the accounts pointed at a profile; following is the list that profile points at. This tool exports the second one — the accounts someone chose to listen to. Both cost the same and produce the same columns.
Can I export someone else's following list?+
Yes, as long as the account is public. A following list is visible to anyone browsing the profile, so no login or permission is needed — type the handle and export.
Is the list in the order they followed?+
X returns the following list newest-first, and we preserve that order in the file. The most recently followed accounts land at the top, which is usually the interesting end.
Can I compare two accounts' following lists?+
That's one of the most common uses. Export both, drop them into a spreadsheet, and a lookup against the handle column gives you the overlap — the accounts your whole niche follows — and the gaps.
Will this help me unfollow people?+
It gives you the audit. Sort your own following list by follower count or filter bios by keyword to find the accounts you've outgrown, then decide in a spreadsheet instead of scrolling. The unfollowing itself still happens on X — we never touch your account.
